Encore!

Day dies and night births anew; stars sneak from their
hiding place
Delicately dancing their way across the Ballroom of Bright
Galaxies
Moon, awaking from sleep, stretches and yawns with a
languorous grace

Then she stops and stares wondrously at the dazzling dance
that she sees.
Momentarily distracted she gazes on a world that she’s
guarded through time
As it struggles to spin on its axis and continue its orbit
through space

Thought arrested, her attention returns to contemplation of
the rhythm and rhyme
Of the awesome collection of players (those celebrated
Celestial Tap-dancers)
In their nightly production performance staged out on the
Milky Way’s lace.

Then to show them her great admiration of the work that
they’ve laid on the line
In presenting the Royal Performance with such consummate creative
ease
She commands, with an elegant hand, the presence of mystical
prancers

To deliver her bouquet of moonbeams (a lunar embrace)
Then the unicorns answer her call whispered out across vast galaxies
And come cantering through the fields of that diamond-strewn
place

To pick up her package: they bow down to the stars on their
magical knees
And bestow their delivery of silver which arrives just in
time!
Then the stars go to bed, Moon goes to sleep and Sun ends the
Unicorns’ race.
